National Accounts Division
Function: National Accounts Division compiles the national accounts of
Guyana's economy
which is subdivided into fifteen sub-sectors. Two of the most
well-known variables produced by these accounts, and perhaps the two most
requested by the public, are Gross Domestic Product and per capita income.
Data collection: Data is collected on the
output of the real and services sector of the economy. Examples of the data
collected are: production of crops (such as rice, sugar, and other
non-traditional crops), extraction of minerals (such as bauxite and gold),
harvesting of seafood, and several manufactured items (varying from
industrial items such as paint, to consumer items such as beverages).
